A complimentary program to the Working Without Borders Program is the While You’re Away Partner Program (WYAPP).  It assists in breaking down barriers to teamwork caused by the commission compensation structure.  Commission can result in more competition between colleagues than collaboration and customers can feel it.  Not addressing the consequences of unfriendly competition amongst your staff may very well lead to customer dissatisfaction which of course threatens even the strongest bottom line.

The WYAPP calls for the following:

Clients, regardless of the sales person that assisted them with their initial purchase, should be encouraged to contact the department at their own convenience.
If their sales person is not in/available at the time of their contact, a While You’re Away Partner will have been assigned by the sales person in advance who will serve their colleague’s clients in their absence/unavailability.
The WYAP can then be paged at anytime to serve the client as they would their own client.

If implemented well the WYAPP does not only guarantee customer satisfaction at all times regardless of whether their sales person is in/available or not, but it also encourages teamwork and collaboration for the greater good of the company.
